2011 Events!

AfricAid's Night Out on the Town

On December 5th from 4 p.m. to close, AfricAid supporters gathered at The Ginn Mill to celebrate the holidays and hear about some of AfricAid's goals for 2012. All the proceeds from the night were donated by The Ginn Mill to AfricAid! It was a fun, festive night, all in support of a great cause, and it was so great to see so many of you there!

Art and Soul 2011is Most Successful to Date!

On Saturday, September 24rd, over 200 AfricAid supporters joined together at RedLine Art Gallery to celebrate AfricAid’s annual gala, “Art and Soul: A Celebration of Life Stories.” The evening featured beautiful African and local art, African music, and live entertainment. The gala was hosted by 9News’ Bazi Kanani and featured a video greeting recorded by Josephine Masandika, an AfricAid scholar who won a full-ride scholarship and is currently attending the prestigious New York girls’ boarding school, Emma Willard. Both Bazi and Josephine uplifted and inspired attendees as they emphasized how impactful AfricAid has been in providing young women with the opportunity to transform the lives of Tanzanian girls and the futures of their communities.

AfricAid is thrilled to announce that attendance was up 71 percent from last year’s event and sponsorships were up over 100 percent! Additionally, the net revenue was up 48 percent. We want to thank all of those who made it out to Art and Soul this year, as it would not have been such a success without your enormous show of support. Thank you for helping to uplift young women in Africa! !
