Teach: Textbooks and Computer Labs
In Tanzania, most students learn without access to basic supplies, textbooks, or computers. AfricAid believes that these teaching and learning materials are essential to a high-quality education and, since 2001, has supplied over $100,000 worth of much-needed school supplies, textbooks, classroom materials and computers to dozens of schools across Tanzania.
Computers
AfricAid installs and maintains low-cost computer labs at schools across Tanzania. In today’s technology-driven world, it’s more important than ever to provide students with the basic computer skills that will allow them to compete for scarce jobs and build networks of support around the world. We have built labs at many schools and installed a computer lab at each of our Kisa Partner Schools, where students have the chance to log on to the KisaProject.org social network and communicate with students around the world! Our labs use low-cost, low-energy NComputing technology; please read a case study that was published about our computer lab model!
Please support the construction of a new computer lab through a contribution today! Simply indicate “Computers” in the notes line of the contribution form.
Textbooks
AfricAid works to ensure that all of its partner schools have access to basic school supplies and textbooks, which dramatically increases the quality of learning for students. Each year, AfricAid helps to distribute textbooks to its may partner schools, and to schools across Tanzania through the Teaching in Action teacher training program.
Your contribution of just $10 provides a textbook in a Tanzanian classroom! Please make a contribution today and indicate “textbooks” in the notes line of the contribution form.
